What Philip did today!

Philip and Daddy on the pasture road between our house and the county road.
Aren't you proud of the helmet, Grandma?

Guess who will be 4 in a few days!!!!
Guess who's a great little runner and almost always keeps up!!

He's the most amazingly physical little guy. He's always finding things to climb and then he jumps. He's climbed the porch posts, the swingset... He could climb into the tree house when he was two years old. Since our trampoline blew away he's asked daily for a new one. My couch is wearing out. Well, now we have a new outlet for his energy!!
Things are going well here. We've been getting rain, the cattle sold well, school is going right along. Public school is fine for Thomas. He aced the reading portion of the state tests. The teacher commented, "He keeps me on my toes." James has made a bit of a break through in reading. He's able to sound out words in the middle of sentences now. He's not guessing words as much and is feeling good about his reading and math. This is an important thing we've not always had...he is encouraged and excited with learning. I become more convinced each week that we've made the right decision to homeschool him.
We're starting to use Catholic Mosaic and some Circle Time found here for Philip and James. Soon we will start going to a homeschool co-op group on Fridays. It will be a lot of fun. Cub Scouts starts in a week or two and Andrew is the Wolf leader.
Andrew's birthday is in a few days. We've already had some friends over and will celebrate again on Tuesday with my parents and his parents. He's getting a birthday week!!!
All I want for my birthday is to go see a movie that is not animated. I think we'll dump the kids off at the grandparents and zoom down to Paris (Texas) for the evening

Wow, so he's riding without training wheels?? Hope he had a great b-day!

I have pulled some ideas from those circle time lesson plans myself! I was planning to blog about what we are doing... very informal, but structured, if that makes sense!
