Pigeons and Bikes and pipelines

James is learning to ride a bike. He's doing it!

Here is a picture of James with his pigeon. It almost didn't survive Pickles. James was taking him out of the cage and showing him to Pickels. She took a taste. YUM.

We had to give Jamse a buz cut because he had cut his and Pickles' hair with my good scissors. He likes it and says the girls rub his head. Noice the mud hole behind James' left ear. This is one way Philip spends his time, digging a hole and filling it with water, then sitting in the mud. Yesterday he had 4 baths before we left for Church at noon. I have to be very careful he doesn't take his nice toy trucks outside. He's getting a sand box for his birthday. Or maybe just a big pile of sand in the back yard.

The landman for the pipeline came by today and got into his "tell ya what ya wanna hear" mode. He said things like, "You're a millionaire, you just don't know it yet." And stuff like "A good gas well will bring $2500 a day." And, "This county is going to be one of the richest in the state."

I said things like, "It's all found money anyway." and "It's not money until it's in the bank."

He's referring to all the rigs that will be going in around here after the pipeline gets finished. The time line has gas flowing through the pipe by December 15th. They have two wells in this area that they have "developed." Now we're just waiting for rigs to come back.

A neighbor has a son who works for Chesapeake and they say our well is still on the list to be drilled.

A few weeks ago we went to a NARO http://naro-us.org/ (how do you hyperlink, anyway?) town hall meeting in Durant. The man speaking said that if Grandpa left you mineral rights around here you should call him everyday and tell him thank you.

I try not to think about it too much.

Great pics Charlotte!
I'm glad to hear the pigeon survived. I'm very sad to hear about the frog though. :)
